KBOPS - Knowledge base

The setup of KBOPS knowledge base is very simple and can be done online (i.e. on the web) or on any PC and then uploaded to the web site.

KBOPS is supplied with an initial database with some default configuration data. The following steps are needed to complete the setup of KBOPS knowledge base.

After your KBOPS facility has been created and tailored to your corporate style by Future Data International, simply add a link from your existing web site and then add your data using the 4 steps below.
Add each of your products into the "Products & versions" list with any model number, version number or release number. A description can be added for each product and this can be displayed to the customer if required.
Add the subject headings for each product into the "Categories within the products" list. These are subjects that are specific to the products. e.g. For a printer, the product headings may be "Interfacing", "Installing", "Paper feed", Double siding" etc.
Add the article types that are required to the "Article type" list. e.g. "How to", "Documentation", "Troubleshooting" etc.
Add the articles for each of the products categorising them with:-
  • Article type. Select one of the Article types for the article.(i.e. "How to", "Documentation", "Troubleshooting" etc.)
  • Product & version. (Each article can be related to any number of products or product versions)
  • Category within the product. (Multiple categories can be selected for each article)
The article may also be linked to one or more other articles and these can be selected from a pull down list.
The article text can be in standard text or can be in HTML and include pictures, sound etc.
  It couldn't be simpler
